Treasure Box II by Patrick Edwards & Patrice Lejeune

October 21, 2015 Luke Addington

During my recent trip to The American School of French Marquetry I got to spend a little time with one of my favorite pieces, the second treasure box in a series by Patrick Edwards and Patrice Lejeune. Patrice has done a wonderful job of documenting the build from beginning to end. Here is a link to that post. Following is a small collection of photos I shot of the box. The photos do not tell the whole story - the box is far more beautiful in person, contains two supplementary panels in the interior, and has a secret mechanism that when sprung releases a hidden gilded leather tray. There is a group of three photos that are almost identical except that they have different focal points. I decided to keep those in as they provide a detailed view of the back of the box. At the end are a few photos of the the first treasure box in the series for comparison.
