Luke Addington is a furniture & wooden artifacts conservator and period furniture maker. He specializes in the conservation and recreation of pre-Industrial furniture, marquetry, and archaeological artifacts. Addington trained under furniture conservators and ébénistes William Patrick Edwards & Patrice Lejeune at the American School of French Marquetry. He continues advanced studies in conservation and chemistry at the University of Arizona & Arizona State Museum under Dr. Nancy Odegaard. He is a contract conservator for the National Park Service (NPS) Western Archaeological and Conservation Center (WACC) and Mission San Xavier del Bac.

Addington’s work includes materials characterization for objects of art & archaeology, instrumental analysis, and development of new treatment methods. He has lectured and taught workshops on furniture making and conservation since 2011. Publications include articles on French polishing (The Art of French Polishing Part I & Part II) and the chemistry of treating museum objects (MCP-Designed Nanostructured Fluids for the Removal of Polymer Films, and Technical Study and Cleaning Treatment of the Egyptian Coffin of Nakht). He is a member of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), the Western Association for Art Conservation (WAAC), the International Institute for Conservation (IIC), the Institute of Conservation (ICON), and the Society of American Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM).
